PYRAZOLE AS AN ANTICANCER AGENT.

Pyrazole are well known and important nitrogen containing 5-membered heterocyclic compounds and various methods have been worked out for their synthesis. Pyrazole chemically known as 1,2-diazole has become a popular topic due to its manifold uses. Numerous pyrazole derivatives have been found to possess a broad spectrum of biological activities, which stimulated the research activity in this field. Pyrazoles and its derivatives represent one of the most active classes of compounds, which possess wide range of biological activities like antibacterial, anticonvulsant, analgesic, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, ant diabetic, sedative antirheumatic, anticancer, and antitubercular activities. Recently research and development of new pyrazoles for cancer therapy have been one of a major focus in anticancer drug design. 4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole seem to be the most frequently studied pyrazole type compounds. Literature survey revealed that some pyrazoles have been implemented as antileukemic, antitumor, and anti-proliferative agents. We have recently reported synthesis and antitumor activity of some indole derivatives containing 1,3,4-oxadiazole and 1,2,4-triazole, and discovered that some of the analogs are potent and selective against various cancer cell lines. Combination of the pyrazole moiety with the indole nucleus may enhance these activities. These compounds are prepared by microwave as well as conventional method.
