Phytotherapy recommended the popular use of medicinal herbs of certain plants without medical perception; it mainly deals with natural components of plants and their influence on people and their health. Such as hops infusion (sedative), foot bath with mustard (to clear head), charcoal (detoxifying agent), fir trees (treatment of respiratory disorders).The rational use of medicinal herbs as an alternative to aggressive medicinal remedies. The development of chemical and pharmaceutical industry provides new powerful medicines though not less toxic effect but there are simple herbs that can be used for recovery of sickness, whose effect on body is different from that of chemical drugs that poisons the blood and endanger life. The natural agents such as water, air, sun and medicinal herbs may do more for health. Phytotherapy includes the use of plants parts such as leaves (Piper betel) ,Secretions (latex,,resin,sap), charcoal(woody part), bark (Cinchona calisaya), tuber (Solanum tuberosum), bulb (Allium cepa), roots (Rauwolfia serpentina), seeds (Prunus dulcis), flower (Centaurea cyanus), whole plant(Euphrasia), grains (Avena sativa), fruit (Citrus aurantium), young branches(Cytisus scoparius),aerial parts (Polygonum hydropiperoides), petioles(Adiantum capillus-veneris), fruits (Malus domestica). The part of pharmacognosy focusing on use of crude extracts or semi-pure mixtures originating from nature known as phytotherapy. Although phytotherapy is sometimes considered as alternative medicine, when critically conducted, it can be considered the scientific study on the effects and clinical use of herbal medicines.
